...Recently on Fox, Malliotakis spoke against a House federal budget framework that includes major funding for resilient infrastructure, and clean energy policies that would begin to limit the effects of the climate crisis. This plan would specifically benefit our district and help our local economy, as it includes major spending on priorities that our district, Staten Island and South Brooklyn, sorely needs: improvements to crumbling roads, coastal protection, new ferries, clean electric school buses for our kids, improved public transit, and funding to jump-start renewable energy and electric vehicles to make those options affordable and widely available. This spending would help our district in the short and long term. It would provide us with funding to protect against the next Ida or Sandy while investing in cleaner, cheaper and shorter commutes in the future.
